This presentation highlights the evolving role of Gross Anatomy Lab Managers (GALMs), addressing their responsibilities, the need for standardized training, pathways to professionalization, and disparities in body donation representation.

2025 Speaker Bio:
Kerrie S. Lashley, DHSc, MS

 
Dr. Lashley is an anatomist and gross anatomy laboratory manager with over 20 years of experience in academia and research. With a strong foundation in cancer research, genomics, sequencing, and genotyping, Dr. Lashley has developed a comprehensive understanding of both scientific discovery and laboratory operations. Her expertise has allowed her to lead the development of efficient laboratory processes, foster collaborative team environments, and drive innovation in lab management.

For the past seven years, Dr. Lashley has served as an Anatomy Instructor and the Gross Anatomy Laboratory Manager at the George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.
